About IIT Madras
Established in 1959 by the Government of India, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras is one of the oldest
IITs in the country, home to world-class technical education and research as well as industry consultancy and
international academic collaboration in sixteen departments and several advanced interdisciplinary research
